These syringe filter have a 0.22 µm (micron) filter that allow for air exchange but keep potential airborne contaminants out.
They are much more efficient than for example surgical tape.
Drill a 5 mm hole in the lid of the container you want to use, slap some high temperature silicone on the bottom of the syringe filter (optional) and you are ready to go.
